CPAC's 63rd Annual Juried Members' Show returns to the Colorado Photographic Arts Center from June 26 to August 1, 2026, presenting a highly selective survey of contemporary photography from Colorado and across the country. The exhibition showcases work from CPAC's community of more than 700 members, offering artists an important platform for visibility and recognition within the photographic field.
Juror Brian Piper, Ph.D., Freeman Family Curator of Photographs, Prints and Drawings at the New Orleans Museum of Art, selected photographs by 32 CPAC members for the main exhibition and chose 20 additional works as a Special Mention subset. Sharma, Laurie Smith, Jeff Tidwell, Sonya Trevino and Kathryn Winograd. Several artists appear in both categories, reflecting the breadth of their contributions.
Piper noted that submissions revealed work actively testing photographic media as a means to understand ourselves, our neighbors and our world. Recurring themes include reverence and concern for the natural world, explorations of identity and community, and investigations into photographic processes themselves. The selected works range from landscapes and figurative images to self-portraiture, performance and experimental picture-making.
The exhibition reinforces photography's continued importance as a way to see the world openly, honestly and vividly, bringing disparate ideas together into a single coherent presentation.
