Vero Beach - 3001 Riverside Park Drive - FL 32963
The Vero Beach Museum of Art stands as a cultural cornerstone on Florida’s Treasure Coast, offering a dynamic space for visual arts appreciation, education, and community engagement. Established in 1978 by the Alliance for the Arts, the museum originated from a shared vision to create a regional hub that would foster the appreciation and teaching of the arts and humanities. This vision became a reality in 1986, when the museum—then known as the Center for the Arts—opened its doors to the public, entirely debt-free thanks to the generous support of local donors.
Since its founding, the museum has experienced significant growth, both in its physical structure and its impact. With key expansions in 1999, 2007, and 2012, including the addition of the Alice and Jim Beckwith Sculpture Park and a 20,000-square-foot Exhibitions and Collections wing, the museum now spans over 54,000 square feet. Its stately neoclassical building in Riverside Park, set along the scenic Indian River, welcomes more than 75,000 visitors annually.
Serving a three-county region, the museum offers a diverse range of exhibitions, educational programs, art classes, and special events for all ages. Its permanent collection, rotating exhibitions, and community-centered programming make it a vibrant gathering place and a leader in regional cultural life. In recognition of its excellence, the museum was first accredited by the American Association of Museums in 1997, a distinction it continues to maintain.
In 2025, the museum earned national recognition from Remuseum as the top-attended small museum in the country with a budget under \$12 million, affirming its importance beyond local borders. As the Vero Beach Museum of Art continues to evolve, it remains deeply rooted in the community’s aspirations and serves as a vital institution where creativity and culture thrive.
