Eli Klein Gallery is a leading force in contemporary Chinese art, recognized internationally for its dedication to promoting both emerging and established artists from China. Since its founding in 2007, the gallery has played a vital role in introducing fresh and thought-provoking works to Western audiences, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and elevating the global presence of Chinese contemporary artists. Through its extensive collaborations, the gallery has helped shape the careers of numerous artists, securing their place in the broader art world.

A strong advocate for museum exhibitions, Eli Klein Gallery has facilitated the loan of Chinese artworks to over 100 institutions worldwide. The gallery has also published 40 books and exhibition catalogues and has curated more than 75 exhibitions, solidifying its reputation as a leading voice in contemporary Chinese art. Its artists have been featured in major publications such as *The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Artforum, Newsweek,* and *ARTnews,* as well as on CNN and other international media outlets.

Located at 398 West Street in the West Village, the gallery occupies a historic, landmarked Federal-style row house with three levels of exhibition space. Its prime location, just blocks from the Whitney Museum and the High Line, places it in one of New York City’s most vibrant cultural districts. The gallery’s ground floor features 13-foot ceilings, providing a dynamic setting for large-scale works and immersive installations.

François-Xavier Gbré: Radio Ballast
French-Ivorian photographer François-Xavier Gbré produced the “Radio Ballast” series as part of the Latitudes programme, of which is the first laureate. The work was exhibited at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in Paris in 2025, and will tour to the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York in 2026 and Côte d’Ivoire in 2027. An accompanying volume is co-published by Atelier EXB and the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès.
