Derry Ainsworth is an award-winning British photographer, videographer, and digital artist based in Hong Kong. After earning a degree in architecture, he left the UK in 2014 to explore and photograph urban environments across Asia, ultimately making Hong Kong his home. Initially working in architecture, Derry transitioned to photography, dedicating himself to capturing the city’s unique beauty.
With over 11 years of experience, Derry has collaborated with prominent global brands and participated in more than 18 exhibitions. His work has been featured in major publications, including National Geographic, CNN, The Telegraph, Bloomberg, and Forbes. In 2022, he established himself as a pioneer in the digital fine art space with his ‘COLLECTED MEMORIES’ series, commissioned by organisations such as Samsung and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, with select works auctioned at Sotheby’s.
Today, Derry balances his commercial photography endeavours with a relentless passion for documenting Hong Kong. He draws inspiration from the vibrant culture, the diverse people, and the dynamic events that unfold around him. This dedication enriches his artistic practice and allows him to celebrate the ever-evolving narrative of Hong Kong through his lens.
