IPHF - International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum
St. Louis - 3415 Olive Street - MO 63103
The International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum (IPHF) stands as a global beacon for the celebration and preservation of photography in all its forms. Established to honor those who have profoundly shaped the art, science, and craft of the medium, IPHF has consistently recognized photographers, inventors, and visionaries whose contributions have advanced photography’s role in society. Over the decades, the Hall of Fame has inducted figures ranging from 19th-century pioneers of photographic processes to contemporary artists who continue to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.

The museum’s collection is at the heart of its mission. It encompasses an extraordinary range of historic and contemporary works, including cameras, equipment, and prints that trace the evolution of photography from its earliest days to the digital age. Iconic images by celebrated Hall of Fame inductees highlight how photography has documented history, shaped culture, and expanded artistic expression. By preserving these works, IPHF ensures that audiences worldwide can engage with the photographs and technologies that have defined generations.

Although IPHF no longer maintains a permanent physical gallery, its commitment to accessibility has only grown stronger. Online exhibitions, educational lectures, and workshops connect audiences across the globe to both the collection and the living practice of photography. Competitions judged by Hall of Fame inductees further extend this reach, offering photographers unique opportunities for recognition and feedback from leading figures in the field.

In addition, the museum is developing new initiatives such as traveling exhibitions and lending programs that bring selections of the collection to diverse audiences. This global approach reaffirms IPHF’s belief in photography as a fine art that transcends borders and disciplines. By preserving history, celebrating innovation, and fostering dialogue, the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum continues to elevate photography’s vital role in shaping human experience.
