Johnson City - 103 N Nugent Avenue - TX 78636
A Smith Gallery, founded in May 2010, is a celebrated online platform dedicated to showcasing fine art photography in all its forms. With a commitment to supporting both emerging and established photographers, the gallery curates a rich calendar of juried and invitational exhibitions that highlight a wide range of styles, techniques, and perspectives. Whether working in analog, digital, or alternative processes, artists from around the world find a welcoming space to share their vision.

The gallery is led by Amanda Smith and Kevin Tully, whose combined expertise brings depth and direction to its programming. Amanda brings over three decades of experience in photography and has been a vital part of the Texas photographic community, serving as a long-time board member of the Texas Photographic Society. Her work is held in numerous private and institutional collections, and she is widely respected for her curatorial insight, having juried for prestigious publications and exhibitions nationally and internationally.

Kevin Tully complements this vision with a multidisciplinary background in landscape and furniture design, painting, and photography. His artistic sensibility informs the gallery’s aesthetic and conceptual direction, and like Amanda, he contributes as a juror to a wide array of exhibitions across the photographic arts.

A Smith Gallery is not only a space for viewing and exhibiting work but also serves as a hub for education and creative growth. Through workshops, portfolio reviews, and community engagement, the gallery fosters an environment where photographers can evolve their practice and connect with like-minded creators. Its mission remains focused on celebrating photography’s diversity and expressive power, with a particular emphasis on creative authenticity.

With its strong curatorial voice and inclusive approach, A Smith Gallery continues to be a vital presence in the online fine art photography world.

All About Photo Presents ’Rural Life in the Hudson Valley’ by Susan Anthony
The photographs in this exhibition are part of a project about rural life in the Hudson Valley. For the past five years, I have been taking photographs of individuals and families in upstate New York. Having spent many years as a weekender and homeowner, most of the people I knew were other New Yorkers, and I never had the chance to meet people who grew up in this rural area. During the pandemic, I spent many hours outside with my camera, walking along the road and photographing local residents. Eventually, I decided to create a project about the people I met. Now, as some of these individuals have become friends, I continue to meet others whose families have lived in this area for many generations.

Williams is a Glasgow-based artist who has become known for a visual arts practice that explores themes of race, queerness, memory and history. A key concern that he addresses in his work is the absence of representation and how this can be perpetuated by formal histories and archives.
