Denver - 1200 Lincoln Street, Suite 111 - CO 80203
The Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) is Denver’s premier nonprofit institution dedicated exclusively to the art and impact of photography. Since its founding in 1963, CPAC has served as a vital creative hub for photographers, artists, and the broader community. With its recent move to a new location on Lincoln Street in the heart of the Golden Triangle Creative District, CPAC continues to expand its reach and deepen its commitment to artistic excellence and accessibility.
CPAC offers a dynamic range of programming that includes 7 to 10 exhibitions annually, showcasing powerful contemporary photography by both emerging and established artists from across the country. These exhibitions, always free and open to the public, reflect a diverse array of voices and styles, inviting audiences to experience photography as a tool for both artistic expression and cultural dialogue.
Beyond its exhibitions, CPAC provides year-round classes and workshops taught by accomplished photographers and industry professionals. These offerings cater to all experience levels and support a spirit of continuous learning and exploration. The organization also maintains valuable resources for working artists, including a darkroom, digital lab, photobook library, and a Permanent Collection that holds over 800 fine art prints.
At the heart of CPAC’s mission is a dedication to diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility. The organization actively works to amplify underrepresented voices and create a welcoming space where everyone—regardless of background or experience—can engage with the power of photographic storytelling.
Through its community outreach, artist support, and educational initiatives, CPAC is more than a gallery—it’s a gathering space for inspiration, collaboration, and creative growth. Whether you're a practicing artist or simply passionate about visual culture, CPAC offers a place to connect, reflect, and celebrate the ever-evolving world of photography.
