Founded in 2007, dnj Gallery has long been a fixture of the Santa Monica art scene, known for its thoughtful exhibitions and focus on contemporary photography. Today, the gallery enters a new chapter, shifting its mission to embrace a purpose-driven approach that unites art with health and education. Under the direction of Pamela Schoenberg, dnj Gallery is now home to "Art and Med," a series of exhibitions and events designed to raise awareness, foster dialogue, and support fundraising efforts for chronic health conditions through the lens of contemporary visual art.

This innovative direction is a natural extension of Schoenberg’s career, which blends decades of experience in the arts with a growing commitment to wellness and education. With a background in photography and a graduate education rooted in fine arts, Schoenberg’s journey has taken her from photographing social change abroad to working in museum education and curatorial roles across Los Angeles. Her deep understanding of both the creative and educational aspects of the art world informs the gallery’s evolving role as a space for empathy, reflection, and advocacy.

"Art and Med" brings together artists, healthcare professionals, and community members in programs that highlight the intersection of artistic expression and personal healing. The initiative aims to challenge stigmas around illness while offering an artistic platform to explore the lived experiences of those navigating chronic health conditions.

Schoenberg’s recent certification as a Functional Health Coach adds a unique and deeply personal dimension to the gallery’s new vision. Inspired by her training and a collaboration with artist Ted Meyer, whose work explores medical narratives, she has reimagined dnj Gallery as a space of care, learning, and connection.
