Voloshyn Gallery
Miami - 802 NW 22nd Street - FL 33127
Voloshyn Gallery has emerged as one of Ukraine’s most dynamic platforms for contemporary art, distinguished by its commitment to presenting bold, relevant, and internationally resonant work. Founded in 2016 by Max and Julia Voloshyn, the gallery occupies a striking 1913 building in central Kyiv, where its modern exhibitions unfold against historic architecture. From the beginning, Voloshyn Gallery has showcased a wide spectrum of artistic practices, championing both established voices and rising talents who work across painting, installation, video, mixed media, and photography. Its curatorial projects frequently collaborate with museums and independent curators, reinforcing the gallery’s role as a bridge between Ukrainian creativity and global art discourse.

Photography holds a prominent place within Voloshyn Gallery’s program. The gallery has consistently supported artists who use the medium to explore themes of social change, collective memory, urban transformation, and the lived experience of conflict. Whether through conceptual photographic series or documentary approaches, these works contribute to a vibrant dialogue on how images shape cultural identity and record historical moments. In recent years, photography featured at Voloshyn has gained particular urgency, reflecting both the resilience of Ukrainian artists and the power of visual storytelling during times of upheaval.

Even amid war, the gallery has remained committed to sustaining artistic voices. In 2022, Voloshyn Gallery temporarily closed due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, yet its mission endured. By 2023, the Kyiv space reopened, symbolizing determination and continuity, while a new location in Miami, Florida expanded its reach across continents. This dual presence enables the gallery to present Ukrainian photography and contemporary art to broader audiences, fostering cultural exchange and international recognition for its artists.

Through its exhibitions, participation in major art fairs, and support of photography as a key medium of expression, Voloshyn Gallery stands as a vital advocate for contemporary art shaped by both local histories and global conversations. Its program reflects not only artistic innovation but also a steadfast belief in the importance of culture, even in the most challenging times.
