Situated in the heart of historic Covington, Kentucky, the Carnegie Arts Center stands as a vibrant hub for creativity and community connection. Just ten blocks from the Ohio River and easily accessible from all directions, the Carnegie occupies a historic building that has become a cornerstone of the region’s cultural landscape.

As Northern Kentucky’s only multidisciplinary arts organization, the Carnegie plays a pivotal role in nurturing and showcasing contemporary art. Its galleries are dedicated to uplifting diverse voices and providing platforms for regional artists to thrive. More than just a venue for exhibitions, the Carnegie functions as a collaborator and connector—bridging the gap between local talent and broader artistic networks.

One of the defining features of the Carnegie’s approach is its Visiting Curator Program, a dynamic initiative that brings a rotating roster of curators into its spaces. This model fosters rich collaborations between curators and artists, sparking fresh perspectives and expanding professional opportunities. Over the past three seasons, the program has welcomed 18 guest curators and featured the work of over 200 artists, many of whom have deep ties to the region. In the 2022–2023 season alone, six curators from outside the area were invited to engage directly with local artists, creating thoughtful exhibitions that reflect the unique energy of Northern Kentucky’s creative community.

Beyond its galleries, the Carnegie serves as a space for performances, educational programming, and outreach efforts that make art more accessible to everyone. The organization’s mission extends far beyond its walls—connecting people, ideas, and disciplines in meaningful ways.
