By integrating photography with painting, sculpture, and installation, Koslov Larsen creates an environment where visual storytelling and material exploration meet, offering audiences an ever-expanding understanding of what photography can be.

The gallery’s photography program brings together both established figures and emerging talents whose practices redefine the boundaries of the medium. Whether through traditional black-and-white processes, large-scale color prints, or experimental digital works, the photographic exhibitions highlight the medium’s power to capture, question, and transform contemporary experience. Photographers presented at Koslov Larsen often explore pressing themes such as identity, memory, urban transformation, and the environment, ensuring the gallery’s program remains intellectually and emotionally resonant.

Each exhibition is carefully curated to generate dialogue and reflection, inviting viewers to move beyond surface impressions and engage with photography as a conceptual and cultural force. The gallery’s commitment to craftsmanship and originality ensures that the works on view are not only technically accomplished but also rich in meaning and narrative complexity.

Alongside its exhibition schedule, Koslov Larsen organizes public programs, including artist talks, panel discussions, and workshops that deepen understanding of the photographic medium. All About Photo Presents ’Rural Life in the Hudson Valley’ by Susan Anthony
The photographs in this exhibition are part of a project about rural life in the Hudson Valley. For the past five years, I have been taking photographs of individuals and families in upstate New York. Having spent many years as a weekender and homeowner, most of the people I knew were other New Yorkers, and I never had the chance to meet people who grew up in this rural area. During the pandemic, I spent many hours outside with my camera, walking along the road and photographing local residents. Eventually, I decided to create a project about the people I met. Now, as some of these individuals have become friends, I continue to meet others whose families have lived in this area for many generations.
