Agora Gallery
Agora Gallery
New York - 530 West 25th Street - NY 10001
Founded in 1984 by artist Miki Stiles, Agora Gallery emerged from a simple yet powerful vision: to create a welcoming space where emerging artists could exhibit their work, grow professionally, and form meaningful connections. Originally located on Greene Street in the heart of SoHo, the gallery quickly became a gathering place for artists working in similar mediums and philosophies, supported by a suite of services designed to help them navigate the often complex art world.

After Stiles’ passing in 2001, Agora Gallery relocated to its current home in Chelsea’s vibrant gallery district. While its exhibitions now highlight a broader range of established contemporary artists, the gallery has preserved its founding spirit—nurturing artistic careers and cultivating a dynamic community of creators and collectors alike.

The name “Agora” derives from the ancient Greek word meaning “gathering place” or “marketplace,” reflecting the gallery’s commitment to fostering open dialogue, creative exchange, and accessibility. It’s a space where art isn’t just shown—it’s shared, discussed, and celebrated. Agora Gallery has maintained that ethos through an inclusive exhibition program that features both international and local artists, giving voice to diverse perspectives across mediums and cultures.

In addition to its physical space, the gallery maintains a strong online presence through ARTmine, its curated digital platform. There, collectors and enthusiasts can explore a rich collection of artworks, read artist bios, and even experience exhibitions virtually. Beyond showcasing art, the gallery offers services such as art advisory, professional framing, and event hosting, further anchoring its role as a cultural resource within the New York City arts community.

With its roots firmly planted in a tradition of artistic fellowship and its eyes set on the future, Agora Gallery remains a place where artists and audiences alike can come together to experience the power of contemporary art.
