Dix Hills - 107 East Deer Park Road - NY 11746
The Art League of Long Island stands as a vibrant hub for visual arts education and cultural enrichment, serving as a cornerstone of creativity on Long Island since its founding in 1955. As the region’s largest and oldest nonprofit visual arts organization, the Art League is deeply committed to making the visual arts accessible, inclusive, and engaging for people of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.

What began as a small gathering of artists sharing a passion for painting has grown into a dynamic institution offering a comprehensive range of classes, exhibitions, and community programs year-round. Located in Dix Hills, the League serves more than 150 towns and villages, fostering a sense of community through the universal language of art. Its robust schedule includes hands-on courses in painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and more, taught by experienced, practicing artists who inspire both novices and seasoned creators.

The Art League’s mission extends beyond its studio walls through outreach initiatives that bring art education to local schools, underserved communities, and individuals with special needs. Programs like “Beyond the Classroom” connect professional teaching artists with students in public and private schools, while other initiatives offer therapeutic and developmental benefits to seniors, at-risk youth, and individuals with cognitive or physical challenges.

In addition to its educational role, the Art League also serves as a platform for artists to exhibit their work and connect with broader audiences. The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery hosts rotating exhibitions featuring emerging and established artists, juried shows, and student showcases. Membership is open to all who value the arts, whether practicing artists, art lovers, or businesses looking to support cultural growth.

With flexible spaces for public events, installations, and creative gatherings, the Art League of Long Island continues to be a beacon for the transformative power of visual art.
