The 2024 Sports Photography Grants, funded by the Doug Pensinger Photography Fund, are a beacon for emerging and early-career photographers specializing in sports. With a focus on both the kinetic energy of action shots and the nuanced storytelling of portraits, the grants celebrate the diverse and dynamic essence of sports through the lens of photography.

Accessibility and opportunity are at the heart of the 2024 Sports Photography Grants, which require no entry fee, ensuring that all talented photographers can apply regardless of their financial situation. This inclusive approach aims to attract a broad spectrum of applicants, enriching the competition with a wide variety of perspectives and styles. The objective is to uncover and nurture photographers who can convey powerful stories, capture fleeting moments of triumph, agony, and the human spirit inherent in sports.

Winners of these prestigious grants are awarded $5,000 each, dedicated to furthering their professional development. This could involve investing in advanced photographic equipment, embarking on new projects that push the boundaries of their creativity, or pursuing educational opportunities to refine their skills. The Doug Pensinger Photography Fund’s commitment to the advancement of sports photography not only elevates the winners but also enriches the field by encouraging innovation, diversity, and excellence. This initiative represents an essential stepping stone for photographers eager to deepen their impact and leave a lasting imprint on the world of sports photography.

Seven talented photographers will each be awarded a $5,000 grant by the Doug Pensinger Photography Fund.
