Awarded every two years since 2012, The Prix Virginia is the first photography prize exclusively reserved for a woman photographer, regardless of her age or nationality. The work submitted must never have yet been exhibited in France and must not be the result of an editorial assignment or advertisement commission.

The candidate must submit 12-18 photographs (black and white and/or colour. Each photograph has to be at format Jpeg, 72 dpi and no more than 1.5 Mb), a curriculum vitae and a short letter of motivation, describing the creative and artistic dimensions of the submitted work.

Only one application per candidate.

The winner will receive a cash prize of 10,000 EUR (approx. 11,200 USD), plus an exhibition in Paris and a book publication of the winner's photographs and the 10 shortlisted photographers.
