Size Matters celebrates photo based artwork smaller than 10”. Previous exhibitions have included 35mm contact prints to multi-media digital work, sculptural works, camera-less images, and exquisite 8”x10” contact prints. No matter what kind of camera you use (or if you don’t use a camera) Size Matters is the premier photography exhibition celebrating small work

We offer six awards based on work in the final exhibition. These include the Purchase Award ($1000) selected by our exhibition juror, the Director's Choice Award ($500), the People’s Choice Award ($250), and three honorable mentions. The Purchase Award will be paid directly to the artist by Medium Photo. We will donate the work to a prominent museum collection. Awards will be presented during the opening reception on Friday, February 11, 2022.

Juliette Pavy is the Winner of the Sony World Photography Awards 2024

All About Photo Presents ’The Lives of Others’ by Meg McKenzie Ryan
Meg chose to shoot in the poorer neighborhoods of Mexicali, Mexico, the capital city of the state of Baja California. With over a million residents, the possibilities were enormous. Residents hardships were visible. Meg lived a few miles north of the Mexicali border in the lower desert of California, USA. The summers there last roughly seven months, and daytime temperatures during several of those months are almost always over 115 degrees F. Nights get down to 90-plus degrees F. In addition, major earthquake faults run through the area, and roughly every ten years or so, a large earthquake hits causing some buildings to crack or even crumble.

Unpublished Photo (UP) is promoted by the Fondazione culture e musei and by MUSEC Lugano. Originally conceived by the Milanese gallery 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS, the project involves a competition that since 2018 has drawn young artists under 30 from around the world. In 2020 MUSEC decided to consolidate the initiative by providing it with an institutional framework and a perspective for medium-to-long-term development, aimed at indicating the main international trends in young art photography.
