Since its creation in 1989, Visa pour l’Image – Perpignan has stood as the world’s foremost festival dedicated to photojournalism, honoring the photographers who risk their lives and devote their craft to bearing witness to history. Among its most anticipated highlights are the Visa d’Or awards, which celebrate excellence in visual reporting across multiple categories.

The Carmignac Photojournalism Award is pleased to announce that Nicole Tung has been selected as the laureate of its 15th edition, dedicated to Southeast Asia and the human and environmental rights violations linked to illegal fishing and overfishing. Nicole will be officially announced as the laureate, and her work unveiled at the Visa pour l’image festival on Thursday, September 4, at 9pm (CEST), followed by a talk on Friday, September 5.

Magnum Foundation, Magnum Photos, and the Inge Morath Estate are pleased to announce Somaya Abdelrahman as the recipient of this year’s Inge Morath Award. Abdelrahman will receive a $7,500 production grant to support the completion of her project, Tired Souls Seeking Home. This year’s finalist, Mariam Giunashvili, will receive a $1,000 grant in support of her project.

Street Macadam has announced the winners of the 2nd edition of the Macadam Awards, an international street and documentary photography competition open to photographers around the world. Held from May 1 to June 30, 2025, the contest invited both amateur and professional photographers aged 18 and over to submit their best color or black-and-white street images. The results were revealed on Monday, July 8, 2025, following the deliberation of an international jury of respected photographers and curators.
