SNAP COLLECTIVE presents the first book by photographer
Asako Naruto,
who has received numerous international awards.
Through her lens, the artist explores the contours of “what is present” while
tracing the silent echoes of “what is absent.” Divided into ten chapters, the
book gathers fragments of “untold stories” that float through the streets of
Madrid, reflecting the fleeting nature of memory and the delicate fragility of
existence.
With around 150 works, the collection includes some series created at
Atocha Station, captured using special-effect filters like prisms, which make
the images appear to float between dream and reality. Also featured is the
series All the Fading Words, inspired by Japanese poetic metaphors, which
lends its title to the book.
The book closes with a text by filmmaker Arantxa Aguirre that complements
the author’s vision.
