All About Photo invites photographers from around the world to submit their best work for AAP Magazine’s 54th printed issue, dedicated to the theme NATURE.

This special printed edition celebrates the beauty and diversity of the natural world, and we welcome submissions from photographers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Whether you are an established professional, an emerging talent, or exploring nature photography for the first time, this is your chance to share your vision with a global audience.

Nature photography has the power to inspire, captivate, and remind us of the incredible diversity of life on our planet. From sweeping landscapes and dramatic coastlines to intimate portraits of wildlife and intricate studies of flora, nature photography captures the essence of the natural world and tells stories that words alone cannot.

Why Submit to AAP Magazine #54?
This is more than a contest — it is a platform designed to showcase your work to editors, curators, gallery owners, publishers, and photography enthusiasts around the world. Winning entries will be published in the 54th issue of AAP Magazine, featured in our online Winners Gallery, and promoted across our social media channels, offering unprecedented exposure. All winners will also receive cash awards totaling $1,000, along with extensive press coverage.

What We’re Looking For
We welcome projects that capture the beauty, fragility, and diversity of nature. This includes:

Landscape photography — from mountains, forests, and rivers to hidden corners of urban nature and abandoned spaces reclaimed by vegetation.
Wildlife photography — documenting animals in their natural habitats, their behaviors, and interactions with the environment.
Flora and fauna photography — focusing on plants, flowers, and other living organisms, highlighting textures, patterns, and colors.

We encourage photographers to submit a cohesive body of work or a unified portfolio. Individual images are welcome, but series that tell a story or convey a strong theme will be given priority. Previous publications in AAP Magazine are not eligible.

Why This Matters
Nature photography is more than just beautiful images. It is a way to connect people to the environment, inspire conservation efforts, and spark curiosity about the world around us. By submitting your work, you are contributing to a global conversation about the importance of preserving our planet and celebrating its beauty through the lens of photography.

How to Enter
Photographers from all countries and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to submit. Digital or analog images, color or monochrome, experimental approaches — all are welcome. Submit your portfolio via our website and ensure your images are presented as a cohesive series to maximize your chance of selection.

Entry Fees:
Early Bird Deadline: November 21, 2025 — $30 for up to 3 images
Regular Deadline: December 9, 2025 — $35 for up to 3 images

Awards and Recognition
1st Place: $500, exclusive interview, and publication in AAP Magazine #54: Nature. Work also featured in the Winners Gallery online.
2nd Place: $300, publication in AAP Magazine #54, and online recognition.
3rd Place: $200, publication in AAP Magazine #54, and online recognition.
Honorable Mentions: Additional winners (up to 20 total) will have their work published in AAP Magazine #54 and showcased online.

Anastasia Samoylova: Atlantic Coast

In a new body of work, a critically acclaimed photographer retraces Berenice Abbott’s 1954 photographic journey along the Eastern Seaboard, documenting dislocation, loss, and a shifting American dream. In 1954, American photographer Berenice Abbott set out to document the historic US Route 1, already predicting seismic changes to small towns and major cities along the route brought by the rapidly expanding Interstate Highway System. Spanning all thirteen original colonies and beyond—from Fort Kent, Maine, to Key West, Florida—US Route 1 formed over the course of three hundred years from connecting sections of what was once known as the Atlantic Highway. Inspired by Abbott’s acute and poetic observations on life along Route 1 and on the seventieth anniversary of her project, Florida-based photographer Anastasia Samoylova ventures on her own journey to revisit those communities forever transformed by the interstate. Working in color and black and white, Samoylova provides a closer look at the American landscape irreversibly altered by the unrelenting expansion of industry, commerce, and development, as well as the displacement and tenacity of people and wildlife.

Ed Kashi: A Period in Time: Looking Back while Moving Forward, 1977-2022

Photographer Ed Kashi’s passion is long-term documentary projects that immerse him in issues that need attention or people’s lives whose struggles warrant concern. He has had a lengthy and varied career with National Geographic and other major magazines, traveling around the world to tell visual stories.

Kashi’s archive, now housed at the Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin, houses many of his personal memories and the experiences attached to the creation of those images.
