Between Worlds by Barbara Cole
Fine art photographer Barbara Cole publishes Between Worlds, a comprehensive book chronicling decades of her photographic practice, published by teNeues publishing house on June 28, 2023 (US).

Between Worlds is an unprecedented dive into decades of Barbara Cole's shapeshifting styles and artistic modes of expression that ultimately reveals a vision of the world as romantic as it is timeless.

Gathered together like this for the first time, these images trace Cole's pioneering spirit from her early use of Polaroid before it disappeared and her quest to develop her own painterly approach to photography; to her contemporary twist on turn-of-the-century wet collodion tintypes; to her ethereal underwater photography for which she is most known.

Alongside her fine art photography, Between Worlds captures personal reflections and her experimental processes throughout the decades, forming an intimate portrait of an artist constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries of her ongoing practice and the nature of photography itself.
