Professional Women Photographers (PWP) proudly announces Past. Present. Seen., an exhibition celebrating the vision and artistry of women behind the camera. The show will be held at the historic
Salmagundi Club in New York City from September 16–27, 2025, with an opening reception on Friday, September 19.
Founded in 1975 by a small group of determined women seeking recognition in a male-dominated field, PWP has spent five decades championing the power and creativity of women photographers. This special exhibition reflects both the organization’s legacy and its continuing mission to foster visibility, growth, and the enduring power of women telling their own stories through the lens. This 50th Anniversary exhibition celebrates both the organization’s legacy and its continuing mission to foster visibility, growth and the enduring power of women’s vision. For now fifty years, PWP has provided a platform for women photographers to share their work, connect with peers, and support one another in advancing their craft. Past. Present. Seen., honors this enduring mission and invites the public to engage with the profound stories captured through the eyes of women across generations.
For Past. Present. Seen., judged by Jennifer McClure, PWP members were invited to submit pairs of photographs: one created in the past and another within the last three years. Displayed side by side, the works highlight both continuity and transformation in the photographers’ artistic journeys, illuminating how personal vision evolves while remaining deeply rooted in individual perspective.
