Walking through the narrow alleys of Seoul, you can easily come across vintage clothing shops and used appliance stores.
These shops have been around since the 1970s and 1980s—long before the K-pop idols and trendy Korean foods that many people know today became famous. On weekends, the flea market buzzes with people searching for unique clothing finds. The alleys around Dongmyo are gaining renewed attention, attracting not only locals but also tourists eager to explore Seoul’s fascinating backstreets.

I am a South Korean, a street photographer, and working based in New York City! Currently working on a new project in my hometown of Seoul, South Korea! I always walk around the city following the lights and shadows of the streets. The lights and shadows of the city act as a compass to me. I draw the city with photos following the shadows of the sun during the day and the sunset in the afternoon! I am happy to take photos, and communicating with the streets is my favourite conversation.
