Since 2008 I’ve been interested in pinhole photography.
Nowadays I’m working with a Zero 2000 6×6, a Zero 6×9 Multi Format camera and a Zero 810, using both a black and white and a color film. The photographs composing this portfolio are realized using this technique.

My favourite subject is nature in all its forms. Sea is the most fascinating element for me: I’m attracted by its beauty and size, its silence when it’s flat and its thunderous roar when it’s stormy. Pinhole photography has a particular appeal because of time.

Exposure times range from a few seconds to 48 minutes in the first photo that opens the portfolio. Losing oneself in contemplation, one enters another reality in which grandeur, harmony and beauty merge into a single vision. Everything else fades and loses importance as one attempts to impress the landscape perceived during this ecstatic condition on film...

These images depict my sea, which through the poor definition of pinhole photography, black and white, square format and long exposure, achieve a dimension outside of time, hanging in the balance between reality and fantasy.

Aurelio Bormioli became interested in photography because of his father, who is an amateur photographer.

In 2000 he started his collaboration with a friend who owned a photography studio. This completely changed his perspective: he started learning with him and perfecting his skills. He later deepened his passion by attending workshops with some professionals in the field.

To his credit he has several publications in Italian photography magazines and international web magazines and over the years he has received many awards in some of the most important international contests.

His favorite photographic genre remains undoubtedly the landscape, both natural and those contaminated by man's constructions. He always looks for beauty in his surroundings. He always tries to instill a sense of grandeur, of immensity, in his photography. This is currently his main goal.
