Behind the Shot: Les Cygnes
The title of the work is Les cygnes, which means The swans in french. I shot this during Covid times. In the Netherlands we had the opportunity to go outside whenever we wanted, as long as it wasn't with more than one person. But I like going on walks by myself with my camera. In this case, I wanted to test my new Fuji GFX 100s and this was one of my first shots. I love how you can see the details in the feathers and the small droplets on the swan on the right.
My understanding is that swans mate for life usually. I'm not sure if these two were a couple, but I loved how the idea of a couple staying together without really seeing each other acts as a metaphor for us humans and the way we see each other. I wrote a small article about it on my website: the impossibility of a shared experience — Julien Sunyé • Photography & Prints
