Behind the Shot: Night Haven
I found this moment on a damp Sunday evening in Bologna, just outside the central station where the weekend crowds were slowly thinning out. After a weekend of heavy rain, the city was finally catching its breath, and so was the person in my frame. The contrast pulled me in immediately - the bright shop window acting like a spotlight in the darkness, catching someone's vulnerable moment of rest.
I've spent the weekend wandering Bologna's streets with my camera, and I was especially drawn to how the city changes when night falls. Sometimes it's in these quiet hours when we glimpse the most human moments - a stranger finding momentary peace on a dining table that became an impromptu bed.
There's something about this scene that captures what I love about street photography - those unplanned moments when public spaces become personal, when strangers let their guard down just enough to remind us of our shared humanity. In the end, this image isn't just about someone resting - it's about how cities, despite their hardness, still offer moments of refuge to those who need it.
