At a time when few art institutions reflected the Mexican American experience, this museum filled a vital gap, offering both a cultural anchor for the local community and a platform for underrepresented voices.

Today, known as the National Museum of Mexican Art, the institution continues to grow and thrive. With over 48,000 square feet of gallery and program space, the museum houses a significant permanent collection that spans pre-Columbian to contemporary works.
