The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens from Nikon stands out as one of the most versatile options available, offering a wide-angle to short-telephoto range with a constant f/4 maximum aperture. This consistency ensures reliable performance across the zoom range, making it suitable for various shooting scenarios.
Optically, the lens boasts advanced elements including three aspherical and two extra-low dispersion elements, effectively minimizing spherical and chromatic aberrations. This results in images with exceptional sharpness and clarity. Moreover, Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating control flare and ghosting, enhancing contrast and color accuracy, especially in challenging lighting conditions.
To further enhance image quality, the lens features VR II image stabilization, compensating for camera shake to produce sharp handheld shots. The Silent Wave Motor ensures fast and precise autofocus, with the added flexibility of full-time manual focus override. Additionally, the internal focusing design maintains the lens's compact form factor and enables faster focusing speeds.
Designed for FX-format F-mount cameras, the lens can also be used with DX models, providing a versatile 36-180mm equivalent focal length range. The rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh, adding to the lens's appeal for shallow depth of field techniques.
