Mouraux Durand-Ruel is a gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Founded by Victoria Mouraux Durand-Ruel, the gallery brings together artists from different generations, regions, and backgrounds, creating connections between distinct artistic practices and historical periods. Its program is intended to encourage dialogue rather than follow a single medium or aesthetic approach.
The gallery works across painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and installation. Photography forms part of this broader interdisciplinary program, although the gallery is not presented as a photography-focused institution. Exhibitions are conceived as complete curatorial projects, with attention given to the relationships between artists, works, and the wider ideas explored in each presentation. This approach allows established and emerging practices to be considered alongside one another within a contemporary context.
Beyond its exhibitions, Mouraux Durand-Ruel develops a range of activities intended to encourage exchanges around the artists and their work. Publications, artist talks, studio visits, conferences, pop-up projects, and collaborations extend the program beyond the exhibition space. These initiatives provide opportunities for visitors, collectors, curators, and researchers to engage with artistic practices through different formats.
The gallery is also shaped by Victoria Mouraux Durand-Ruel's professional experience across museums, auction houses, art fairs, academia, and commercial galleries. This background informs an approach centered on close relationships with artists as well as with the wider art community. Through its Chelsea location and international outlook, Mouraux Durand-Ruel provides a setting for encounters between artists, collectors, curators, scholars, and visitors, with an emphasis on exchange across generations and cultural contexts.
