Richard Taittinger Gallery, founded in 2014 by Richard Frerejean Taittinger, stands as a cornerstone of the Lower East Side’s contemporary art scene in New York City. Housed in a striking 6,000-square-foot space designed by Studio MDA, the gallery spans three floors and is located at 154 Ludlow Street, a cultural hub near major institutions such as the New Museum and the International Center for Photography.

From the outset, the gallery has cultivated a forward-thinking, globally inclusive vision. Its roster features artists from across continents and cultures, many of whom challenge conventional narratives through diverse media including painting, sculpture, video, installation, and photography. This commitment to showcasing both emerging voices and internationally recognized talents reflects a philosophy rooted in openness, experimentation, and social relevance.

Richard Taittinger Gallery has distinguished itself by actively collaborating with museum curators and institutions, successfully placing works in over two dozen renowned museum collections worldwide. The gallery’s dedication to expanding access to art goes beyond its curatorial program. In 2019, it launched an affordable print initiative, offering high-quality editions starting at $500, aimed at encouraging new collectors and broadening engagement with contemporary art.

In line with its inclusive ethos, the gallery champions artists whose practices resonate with issues of ethics, human rights, feminism, environmentalism, and cultural diversity. By bringing together creators from outside the traditional art system alongside established figures, the gallery challenges hierarchies and fosters a more democratic dialogue in the art world.

Today, Richard Taittinger Gallery remains a vibrant platform for innovative contemporary art, driven by a belief in transparency, accessibility, and the power of creative expression to reflect and shape the world.
