Mason Fine Art Gallery stands as a cornerstone of Atlanta’s contemporary art scene, built on more than three decades of dedication to showcasing diverse, thought-provoking works. Known for its strong representation of Southern voices and a particular commitment to self-taught and outsider artists, the gallery continues to challenge and expand the boundaries of the art world.
Founded by Mark Karelson, a long-time champion of Folk and Outsider Art, Mason Fine Art traces its roots to the Modern Primitive Gallery, which opened in the Virginia Highlands in 1990. From the beginning, the gallery provided a platform for artists who were often overlooked by traditional institutions. Many of those early talents are now represented in major museum collections around the world. Later, the gallery evolved into Mason Murer Fine Art, occupying a vast 24,000 square-foot space that not only hosted influential exhibitions but became a major cultural event venue in the city.
Today, Mason Fine Art operates from a dynamic space on Miami Circle, sharing the location with the Marcia Wood Gallery. It remains a hub for collectors, curators, designers, and consultants seeking both established and emerging talent across a wide range of media and styles. Whether someone is building a collection from the ground up or enhancing a corporate environment, the gallery provides tailored expertise that blends artistic sensibility with thoughtful strategy.
Mason Fine Art also offers comprehensive consulting services, guiding clients through every step from concept to installation. Its portfolio of corporate collaborations includes high-profile names such as Coca-Cola, Cushman & Wakefield, and Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. At its core, the gallery is driven by a passion for connecting people with meaningful artwork—pieces that resonate deeply and inspire for years to come.
