VSCO is selecting fifty photographers, one from every state, to have their work featured on billboards across the country, licensed, and compensated by VSCO.
Every day, photographers are building careers in every corner of the country. They're documenting communities, preserving our most significant moments, growing their portfolios, bringing products to life, and shaping the world we see.
The Fifty is a nationwide recognition of photographers in the United States, showing that you can make it right where you are. At VSCO, we're here to celebrate you, your craft, and your career.
If you're doing the work, we want to see it. This could be your moment to see your work on a billboard in the state where you live.
No fee to submit.
Choose strong, impactful images with a story that extends beyond the frame. We’re looking for work that invites people to stop, look closer, and see the world from your perspective.
The billboard is just the beginning. Selected work may also be showcased through editorial features, curation, and licensing opportunities designed to help photographers get their work seen and grow their careers.
If selected, here's what you get:
1. We pay you an honorarium and feature your name and photograph on a billboard promoting your photography, in your state. One photographer per billboard.
2. Feature on our website.
3. Social media feature showcasing your work to our millions of followers.
4. One free year of VSCO Pro.
5. Participation in a virtual portfolio review.
6. Free ticket to virtual members-only workshop hosted by The Freelance Photographer
7. Inclusion in press outreach for The Fifty.
How to submit
Post your photos to VSCO with #TheFifty and the hashtag for your state, for example, #OHIO if you're in Ohio, or #TEXAS if you're in Texas.
Include a short caption telling us about the image or series.
Add your state to your VSCO bio. We will select one photographer from each US state.
We recommend 3-5 images, especially if they're part of a cohesive series. If your photos include people, please make sure to have a model release available.
This call is open to photographers 18+ residing in the United States. Based outside of the US? Don't worry - we'll have other opportunities in the near future.
