The 16th Arbella International Photography Contest invites amateur and professional photographers from around the world to share their visual stories through two distinct categories: “Beauty of Imperfection” and “Open.”

Now in its sixteenth edition, the competition has developed into an international meeting point for photographers with different cultural backgrounds, creative approaches and levels of experience. Participation is free and open to photographers aged 18 and over.

The “Beauty of Imperfection” category encourages participants to discover the aesthetic and emotional value hidden in irregularity, ageing, vulnerability, traces of time and unexpected details. Photographers may approach the theme through people, nature, objects, architecture, urban environments or everyday life. The category celebrates authenticity and character rather than conventional definitions of perfection.

The “Open” category gives photographers complete freedom to submit work from any photographic genre or subject. Documentary, portrait, street, nature, landscape, architecture, conceptual and experimental photography are all welcome.

Photographers aged between 18 and 24 are also automatically considered for the Future Viewfinder Award. This initiative aims to recognise emerging photographic talent and provide young image-makers with greater international visibility.

Participants may submit up to five photographs in each category. Selected photographs will be recognised through cash awards and exhibition opportunities.
