Eidolon Grant 2026

Eidolon Centre for Everyday Photography is delighted to announce that the Eidolon Grant is launching for the third time, building on the success and nearly 1,000 applications received in previous years while supporting a new round of forward-thinking projects. The Eidolon Grant, Eidolon’s international grant programme for projects exploring, promoting, and preserving vernacular photography, is now open.

The Eidolon Grant is an international programme presented annually to artists, academics, professionals, researchers, collectors, and vernacular photography enthusiasts whose past work and proposed projects are centred around the image heritage of everyday photography. The programme aims to identify phenomena, collections, histories, practices, and trends within vernacular photography in order to offer new interpretations and analyses. Exploring both photographic heritage and contemporary photographic practices is central to Eidolon’s mission, and we invite you to join this important exploration.

This year’s jury includes Swedish documentary filmmaking duo Axel Danielson and Maximilien Van Aertryck, Australian writer, researcher, and curator Catlin Langford, Sam Mercer, curator at London’s The Photographers’ Gallery, Italian photographer, filmmaker, and author Alba Zari, and Eidolon Centre director Róza Tekla Szilágyi.

The submission deadline is September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., and applications may be submitted in two categories, with a total of 25,000 euros to be distributed.
