AAP Magazine #61: STREET is now open for entries! Photographers from around the world are invited to submit their best street photography for the chance to win $1,000 in cash prizes and have their work published in AAP Magazine, Volume 61: STREET.

The street never stops telling stories. A stranger's glance, a fleeting gesture, a shadow crossing the pavement, the energy of rush hour, or the quiet of an empty street at night—street photography captures life as it unfolds, unposed and unpredictable.

For AAP Magazine #61: STREET, we are looking for photographs that capture the strange, unexpected, beautiful, humorous, or quietly profound moments of everyday life. Show us the streets through your eyes and share your personal vision with an international audience.

Street Photography: Capturing Life as It Happens

Street photography has been part of The History of Photography almost since the medium was born. Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre's 1838 photograph of the Boulevard du Temple in Paris is often considered one of the earliest photographs to capture everyday urban life.

As cameras became smaller and more portable, generations of photographers took to the streets to document and interpret the world around them. From Eugène Atget and André Kertész to Henri Cartier-Bresson, Brassaï, Robert Frank, Diane Arbus, Vivian Maier, Garry Winogrand, Lee Friedlander, and many others, photographers have transformed ordinary streets into memorable images.

Today, street photography remains a powerful way to explore contemporary life. It can document a particular place and time, but it can also reveal something deeper about how people interact, move, work, connect, and experience public spaces.

What Are We Looking For?

For AAP Magazine #61: STREET, we invite photographers to submit a cohesive body of work or portfolio reflecting their personal interpretation of street photography.

Capture crowded city streets or quiet neighborhoods. Look for unexpected encounters, fleeting gestures, unusual characters, architecture, movement, light and shadow, humor, solitude, or the small moments that most people simply walk past.

There are no restrictions on subject matter. Your interpretation of the theme is entirely open.

Digital and analog photography are welcome. Color and monochrome are both accepted. Photographers of all levels and from all countries are invited to participate.

AAP Magazine is a printed photography publication dedicated to discovering and showcasing photographers from around the world.

Being selected for AAP Magazine #61: STREET offers photographers the opportunity to have their work published in print and presented to an international photography audience. Selected photographers also benefit from exposure through All About Photo's website, Winners Gallery, social media, newsletter, and press coverage.

Who Can Enter?

The competition is open to photographers worldwide, regardless of experience level or photographic background.

Digital and analog processes are welcome, as are color and monochrome photographs. Whether you are an established photographer or just beginning to develop your voice, we want to see your interpretation of the street.
