Photo Exhibit: LGBT Life Across America
Hosted by: FourTwoNine Magazine
Territory: Worldwide
Entry Fee: No - FREE
Prize: Exhibition
FourTwoNine, a newly relaunched men’s magazine based in Los Angeles, is seeking entries for a project documenting the real lives of LGBTQ people across the United States. Photos selected will appear in a touring gallery show beginning during Pride in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco and in an upcoming issue of our national magazine’s print and online editions. We are inspired by the power of images to present LGBTQ life in all of its richness. Even within the community, we sometimes don’t understand the struggles and joys others are experiencing in different regions, different socio-economic situations, among different race, religion and age groups, and in all of the wildly different personal situations people find themselves in. We’d like to present to the world a view of LGBTQ life that reflect this variety–we are looking for documentary photos–photo journalism and street photography–that will surprise viewers who may be used to seeing a narrower range of Pride-style depictions of gay people. We seek work that has not been published in mainstream media, and only ask for exclusivity for the Summer of 2017. Selected work will be credited with bio and links. One image may be selected for use on the cover of FourTwoNine magazine.

Portraits in B&W
Hosted by: Blank Wall Gallery
Territory: Worldwide
Entry Fee: Between 7 and 20 Euros
Prize: Exhibition
Photographers and viewers have always loved Black and White portraits. This is because these portraits have different aesthetics. The lack of color functions as a filter that removes everything unnecessary, helping the viewer focus on specific elements without any distraction. In Black and White portraits, emotions come to surface more easily so they can be viewed and recognized, as the facial expression is the one that dominates and tells us a different story every time. We can see more things about the subject of the photograph and this is very intriguing.

Gizara says, “As artists- one nurtures and comes to possess a visually attuned intuition. For some gaining this second sight takes a lifetime of hunting and searching. Others seem to be born with this keen sense of knowing. Most of us have experienced these timeless yet eternal essences. Like a memory lodged deep inside our psyche- these transitory moments are illusive and appear quick as lightning. When I recognize these split second visuals- it catches my breath and my heart beats faster while I attempt to capture the fleeting second of light, composition and memory. Please share with me your photographs that capture these mysterious and fleeting "re-memories."

Nine Dot Arts Artist Database
Hosted by: Nine Dot Arts
Territory: Worldwide - Theme: Open
Eligibility: Everyone is welcome to apply. This is a rolling call for entry and will not have a deadline.
Entry Fee: No - FREE
Nine dot Arts’ artist database is internally used by our team of art consultants. After an extensive visual preference survey is given to our clients we refer to our database to choose the most appropriate art to present.

We present work in all styles and mediums including paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, and other art media. We typically place larger works (i.e. 20” x 20” and larger) of art because corporate spaces have very large walls. However, smaller series of works can be used in multiples.
There are three subject matters we rarely work with. They are nudes, strong political tones, and religious iconography. If your work consists solely of any of these please reconsider applying to this call.
